Boston Bruins defenseman Matt Grzelcyk has been given the maximum fine allowable for spearing.

Grzelcyk Fined For Spearing Pacioretty

It was just announced by the NHL DoPS that Matt Grzelcyk has been fined $5,000 for spearing.

Boston's Matt Grzelcyk has been fined $5,000, the maximum allowable under the CBA, for spearing Washington's Max Pacioretty.

Here is the video of the play:

Pacioretty was clearly in pain and given how sensitive the area Grzelcyk speared is, he is lucky he got away with only a fine.
