If playoff hockey shows anything, it is which teams have a true rivalry and which ones are pushed by the NHL. Now, Brad Marchand has revealed who the Bruins's true rival is prior to the start of playoffs.
Brad Marchand is well-known as a hated player around the league. So, it means a lot when he reveals who the Boston Bruins as a team think is their biggest rival. It is commonly thought that the Bruins and Montreal Canadiens have one of the longest-standing rivalries in the NHL, however, Marchand has revealed that he thinks the Bruins and Leafs rivalry has surpassed it.
While this sounds like a massive deal, however, it's not surprising coming from Marchand. He and the Leafs got into some good dust-ups during their last matchup in the regular season.
Marchand will probably use this to his advantage during the series, as this is exactly what makes him a great hockey player. His ability to perform at a high level while getting under opposing players' skin is why he has had such an illustrious career in the NHL.
