Trevor Zegras Linked to the Maple Leafs in Blockbuster Trade Scenario

The Anaheim Ducks' GM, Pat Verbeek, appears nonchalant about the possibility of parting ways with Trevor Zegras or Jamie Drysdale.

Both players, still RFAs, have been notably missing from the team's training camp.

An insider has revealed that the Ducks made an offer around $3-4M AAV for Zegras. Yet, what Verbeek seems to miss, but what Zegras and the broader NHL evidently recognize, might just drive the young player away from Anaheim.

If the status quo persists, other teams might swoop in with their own offer sheets.

If that doesn't happen, a trade seems likely, according to Matt Murley of Spittin' Chiclets, who linked Zegras to a surprising Canadian team.

On Spittin' Chiclets, Matt Murley speculates that the Toronto Maple Leafs might have Zegras in their sights.

Although the Leafs might not have the resources for an offer sheet, a trade for Zegras' rights isn't off the table.

Should a deal materialize, William Nylander's name could very well be part of the discussions.
