Rumour: Patrick Kane To Be Traded To Winnipeg Jets

When Patrick Kane signed his one-year deal with the Red Wings this season, it was with the understanding that the team would look to move him if they fell out of the playoff picture. So far it seems that that may be the case as the team is currently outside the playoffs. One Canadian team in particular has been linked to him.

Winnipeg Jets Looking To Add Patrick Kane At Trade Deadline?

The Winnipeg Jets have always had trouble acquiring talent through free agency. As a result, the team frequently has to build their playoff rosters through trades. This year is no different as the team currently has several players acquired via trade including Alex Iafallo and Gabe Vilardi, who were picked up in the Pierre-Luc Dubois trade. Now their next trade target could be none other than showtime himself.


According to the rumor, Kane would be going to Winnipeg in exchange for Rasmus Kupari and a 2024 second round pick originally belonging to the Canadiens.


NHL insider Pierre Lebrun has already hinted at the possibility that Kane gets traded at the deadline.


Now all that we can do is wait and see what unfolds. If the Red Wings are outside the playoffs come trade deadline day, do not be surprised to see Kane moved.
