After it had looked like Jack Campbell was beginning to bounce back in the AHL he has hit another rough patch. In his most recent stint of AHL starts Campbell has hit rock bottom.




With Campbell's value at an all-time low finding a trade partner is becoming increasingly difficult. However, one option has been thrown around that could make sense.

New Trade Partner Emerges To Solve Oilers Goaltending

Earlier today a scenario was presented that could bring a new goaltender to Edmonton while providing Jack Campbell a fresh start.

Recently reports had come out that Columbus Blue Jackets goalie Elvis Merzlikins was open to a fresh start somewhere new. The 29-year-old is having one of the better seasons of his career but is still stuck on the lowly Blue Jackets.

A new theory provided by an NHL reporter suggests that a Campbell for Merzlikins swap could be a good idea for both sides.


Both players have struggled with inconsistency and could use a new home to improve. If the Oilers could pull off this move without giving up a ton extra it could be a fantastic idea.
