In a heartbreaking development, Venedikt Osipov, a 17-year-old forward with HC EkoNiva-Bobrov, lost his life during a routine training session due to heart complications.
Sport-Express reporting that HC Bobrov forward, 17-year-old Venedikt Osipov, died during training today due to cardiac arrest. 🙏
This sorrowful incident occurred in the National Youth Hockey League (NMHL) (Natsionalnaya Molodyozhnaya Hokkeinaya Liga) where Osipov suddenly collapsed while shooting a puck in practice. Despite the prompt response of medical personnel and the arrival of an ambulance within 4 minutes, resuscitation attempts were in vain.
It has been revealed through social media posts by his teammates that Osipov had a history of heart issues. During this season, he played in 34 games for EkoNiva-Bobrov, scoring a total of 12 points.
