The Winnipeg Jets have had a remarkable season, currently standing at 7th overall in the league. While the team has had some strong players for a while, much of this credit can likely be attributed to a recent trade deal paying off big time.

Jets Trade Proving To Be Best This Year

Last month, the Winnipeg Jets started a period of retooling in an attempt to push their team further up the ranks. Part of this included trading a star player for a few from the LA Kings.

"🚨 FULL TRADE 🚨

To #GoJetsGo - Gabriel Vilardi, Alex Iafallo, Rasmus Kupari, 2024 second-round pick (MTL).

To #GoKingsGo - Pierre-Luc Dubois (signed to 8x$8.5M extension)

Thoughts #NHLJets fans?"

Pierre-Luc Dubois is a talented left-winger, and at a staggering 6'4" and only 25 years old, he will undoubtedly have a long, decorated future in the NHL. However, evidence has emerged showing that this trade may be more than paying off for the Jets.

"Points this season:

28 — Gabriel Vilardi
24 — Pierre-Luc Dubois"

Jets Fans Ecstatic Over Vilardi Trade

Clearly, the Jets are getting their investment's worth if just one of their new players already surpassed Dubois in points. Yet, the fans seem to be enjoying this trade just as much as the team.

"The reason the Winnipeg Jets won the Pierre Luc Dubois trade was they got the best player in the trade.
Gabe Vilardi.
#GoJetsGo"

"That #gojetsgo trade with #gokingsgo was absolute robbery for the jets, Gabe Vilardi is a freaking stud"

At 6'3", this 24-year-old center could very well help Winnipeg in the playoff race this year. While time can only tell how that turns out it remains certain that he is a brilliant pick for the team that will continue to pay off.
