The Winnipeg Jets bid farewell to a franchise icon and long-time captain this past summer, but unfortunately, he's just been dealt the worst news possible.
Blake Wheeler to miss the remainder of the 2023-24 season
During their latest game, Blake Wheeler went down with what looked to be a devastating injury, and now the New York Post is reporting it's just as bad as it first appeared.
Post has learned Wheeler is out for year.
According to Larry Brooks of the Post, Blake Wheeler will miss the remainder of the season for the New York Rangers as they look to push for a Stanley Cup in 2023-24.
In his first season since leaving the Jets, Wheeler put up 9 goals and 12 assists in 54 games for the Rangers, but now they will be looking to make a major move ahead of the deadline to replace an incredibly valuable player and a presence on the ice.
