Winnipeg Jets Prove They Are The Team To Beat In The Central Division

The Winnipeg Jets have put the NHL on notice after handling the first portion of the season with relative ease.

Jets Among The Best In The League At The Holiday Break

Through the first 32 games of the season, the Winnipeg Jets have seemed to only get better and better. With a 20-9-3 record which is good for third in the Central, the Jets have been on a tear recently going 8-1-1 through their last 10 games.

While they are third in the division in points, they are also third in the league in goal differential with a +27. They also just handily defeated the Boston Bruins, one of the best teams in all of the NHL.

While what they are doing is impressive, it gets even more impressive when it is remembered that they are doing this without Kyle Connor. Since Connor's injury, many players have stepped up but most noticeably Gabe Vilardi who has 15 points through 14 games this season.

Goaltender Connor Hellebuyck has also returned to Vezina form as he has gone 16-6-2 posting a 2.37 GAA and a .918 sv%. Backup goaltender Laurent Brossoit has also played great going 4-3-1 posting a 2.50 GAA and a .911 sv%.

It looks like the Jets are primed to make a run at the playoffs and assuming everything stays intact, they could go very deep with the return of Kyle Connor.
