With how well the Jets have been doing this season it is quite an easy choice for a General Manager to try and keep the team together for as long as they can.

Kevin Cheveldayoff and Larry Simmons have begun contract negations with 2 big reasons for the Jets hot start to the season.

Kevin Cheveldayoff and Larry Simmons have begun conversations with Dylan DeMelo and Brenden Dillon's camps. Doesn't say negotiations are ongoing exactly. Sounds preliminary.

Both of these defenseman are known for their strong physical and defensive play that has allowed the team to sure up their defensive play. Along with having arguably the best goalie in hockey Connor Hellebuyck has made the Jets a scary team to play.
