Just 25 seconds into the World Junior Championships, Winnipeg Jets top defensive prospect Elias Salomonsson was ejected for boarding a Latvian player.

Elias Salomonsson (WPG) has been assessed a five-minute major and a game misconduct for boarding just 25 seconds into the opener for Sweden.

25 seconds into Sweden vs. Latvia, Elias Salomonsson takes a five-minute major for boarding.

That's not how you want to start the group stage.

Salomonsson was a second-round pick for the Jets in 2022 and has established himself as the Jets' top defensive prospect.

He is now in jeopardy of being suspended and missing even more of the WJC's which are being hosted in his home nation of Sweden.
