Coming into the season, one of the biggest questions for the Toronto Maple Leafs was whether or not Brad Treliving could get a deal done under the salary cap constraints. As the season began, though, contract talks have seemed to stall.
The delay in getting a deal done is proving to be a bad move for Brad Treliving, as Nylander continues to show just how much he is worth. Nylander has 22 points through 15 games, tallying 10 goals and 12 assists.
While the contract discussions were focused around the 9 million mark prior to the season, Nylander is making the case to easily earn over 10 with his performance thus far. We will see if Brad Treliving can work some cap magic to get a deal done before July 1st.
