The Toronto Maple Leafs may have given up 13 goals over their first three games this season, but in reply they've managed to score 14, so while the blue line needs help, they're looking to continue growing offensively.
After much hype over the past 18-months, the team have now put all of their faith in young 21-year old prospect Matthew Knies, as their top prospect has now been given a well deserved promotion up the lineup.
Through three games, Knies was in the bottom-six and has yet to produce a point, but a recent update from practice has shown us just how much the Leafs value him going forward.
With Fraser Minten and Knies in the lineup, the Leafs are showing great faith in the future of their franchise, and with Knies alongside two of the teams most effective players, this can only be a good thing for his growth.
We've yet to see a true breakout regular season game for the 21-year old, but now, he has the perfect opportunity to do so, and if he settles in, we could be looking at a fantastic campaign upcoming.
