This afternoon Edmonton Oilers defenseman Darnell Nurse was part of a strange and cryptic interview that put his status for tonight's game in doubt.

It is no secret that Darnell Nurse has struggled immensely during the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Despite his struggles many believed he would continue to be in the lineup due to his prestige and contract. However, a new interview with Darnell Nurse seems to indicate this might not be the case.
Stunning game day interview from Nurse. Two and three word answers. Then walked out thanking us before we were done.
Darnell Nurse wasn't feeling very talkative during his media availability that lasted less than a minute.
This was also followed up by Edmonton Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch being asked about the potential of Darnell Nurse being scratched.
Oilers coach Kris Knoblauch said there will be some lineup changes for tonight's Game 4 but won't reveal them.
Finally, the Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid was asked about the situation. He showed a lot of support for his fellow teammate and assistant captain.
"He gives us everything he's got and he always has for a long time."
With puck drop just a few hours away the focus will be on warmups to see if Darnell Nurse takes the ice with the rest of the Oilers. If he is removed from the lineup look for top prospect Philip Broberg to get an opportunity to play.
Once the news is made official regarding Darnell Nurse's game status we will provide you with the latest update.
