After the Edmonton Oilers' loss against the Florida Panthers, Leon Draisaitl got emotional in an interview as he talked about his friend and teammate Connor McDavid.

The Oilers were one goal away from making NHL history and becoming the second team in the league to complete a comeback from a 0-3 deficit.
Unfortunately for the team and Canadian fans, they'll have to wait to bring the Cup back to Canada.
Following the tough loss, Leon Draisaitl faced the media and gave an emotional speech about his teammate and friend Connor McDavid.
Here's what the forward said:
"He's the greatest player to ever play in my books. So many things that a lot of people don't see that he does. He single-handedly turned our franchise around."

"Just love, love sharing the ice with him. He's just a really, really special person."

"It speaks to how amazing of a hockey player he is, but there's no player in the world that wants to win a Stanley Cup more than him. (He) does everything right every single day just to win it one day. It's really hard, especially with him (McDavid) being sad."

"But obviously it wasn't meant to be."

Hockey players dream all their lives to win the Stanley Cup and most Oilers players never got as close to winning it in their careers.
McDavid may have won the Conn Smythe Trophy, but he fell short of the Stanley Cup. Draisaitl revealed that he doesn't think McDavid even cares about the trophy:
"I don't think he cares."
McDavid, Draisaitl, and the Oilers will do all they can to reach the Stanley Cup Finals next season and finally put their hands on the Cup.
