Connor McDavid redeems himself after horrific overtime performance

Connor McDavid found himself in the penalty box for what felt like an eternity after a high-sticking incident in overtime.

The Edmonton Oilers managed to survive the double-minor, and kill the Dallas Stars power play during game 1 of the Western Conference finals. Yet McDavid wasn't about to let that missed chance keep him up at night.

"Miserable, I hated every second of it." Connor McDavid when asked what it was like watching from the penalty box after taking a high-sticking penalty.

In double overtime, he seized the moment, redirecting a pass from Evan Bouchard to secure a thrilling 3-2 victory for the Oilers first semifinal win of Mcdavid's career.

It was a redemption moment for the superstar, who had come agonizingly close to ending the game earlier in the first overtime period.
