Barstool Sports CEO goes all in on the Oilers winning the cup

It is officially playoff season in Oil County and the vibes have never been so high, with Connor McDavid putting up an historic season with 100 assists. Barstool CEO Dave Portnoy has taken advantage of that and decided to place a massive bet on the Edmonton Oilers to win the Stanley Cup with the playoffs just hours away from beginning.

Earlier this week, Dave Portnoy shared his pick to win the Stanley Cup, and he decided to bet 150,000$ on the Edmonton Oilers to bring the cup back to Canada.


No better time for the Edmonton Oilers to be bet on for the Cup. It is Connor McDavid's ninth season in the NHL and he is hungrier than ever. Despite all his individual success and accomplishments, he is missing the final piece of hardware to his collection, which is Lord Stanley.


It won't be easy for the Oilers, as they face a tough opponent in the La Kings for the third year in a row in the first round. This time, the Kings will come out with vengeance, after losing both times in the last two years.

Dave's bet is not ridiculous, as the Oilers currently have decent odds on betting apps across the world.

Currently, sportsbooks have the Edmonton Oilers tied as the fourth most likely team to win the cup this year, valued at +800. With the team led by Connor McDavid hungry to finally win it all, there's definitely some value to it.
