Alex Ovechkin fires shots at McDavid and Draisaitl in a public interview

Tonight Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin took a major shot at Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers. Ovechkin called out both McDavid and Draisaitl before the team's matchup.

Ovechkin Calls Out Oilers Stars In Hilarious Interview

This afternoon Alex Ovechkin was speaking to the media about tomorrow's game against the Edmonton Oilers. When asked how the Capitals will deal with Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl, Ovechkin gave a sarcastic response.





While Ovechkin likely meant it more as a compliment to his own young stars it came off as an insult to McDavid and Draisaitl. Both McMichael and Lapierre have stepped up in the absence of star players however calling out the Oilers stars is a bold strategy.

McDavid Looking To Stay Hot As The Oilers Gear Up For The Playoffs

Connor McDavid is widely considered the best player in the NHL. To start the season he struggled to find his way and dominate the game like he had in the past. However, in recent weeks McDavid has gotten going and carried the Oilers back to a contending position.


McDavid along the way has become the sixth player in NHL history to reach 100 points 7 or more times.



The Oilers and Capitals will face off at 10 pm eastern time where the Edmonton Oilers will be able to show why Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl are superior to Connor McMichael and Hendrix Lapierre.
