The Edmonton Oilers have been red hot in the NHL as of late, and it appears that the fighting spirit has extended down to the AHL as of late too, with prospect Raphael Lavoie scrapping for the Bakersfield Condors.

Over the weekend, 6-foot-4 forward prospect Raphael Lavoie dropped the gloves with the feisty Vasily Podolzkin, and it's safe to say that it was a fun one.

Unfortunately for the Oilers, Lavoie will now undergo an x-ray after leaving the game, with the area of concern unknown at this point.

Oilers prospect Raphael Lavoie, who left Saturday's AHL Bakersfield Condors game after a fight with Canucks' Vasily Podkolzin, is scheduled to have X-rays today.

The 23-year old has played in seven games with the Oilers this season, unfortunately though he is yet to produce a point in the NHL, but down in the AHL he's been fantastic, netting 13 goals and 21 points in just 29 games played.

It's unclear how this injury will effect his potential of reaching the NHL once again in 2023-24, but after seeing this type of grit, there's no doubt the Oilers will look to find a place for him in the lineup in the coming years.
