The Edmonton Oilers could be the perfect spot for a former 2nd overall pick.

Patrick's Difficulty Adjusting

Back in 2017, the Philadelphia Flyers selected Nolan Patrick 2nd overall with the hopes of him becoming their franchise centerman. Six years later, he is not even on the Flyers and did not receive a qualifying offer from his former team, the Vegas Golden Knights.
While he has not been able to adjust to the NHL completely, it is not Patrick's fault as he has struggled with injuries and migraine issues that have sidelined him for two entire years.

A Potential PTO In Edmonton?

As per Inside The Rink, Nolan Patrick could be getting a PTO (Professional Try Out) with the Edmonton Oilers.
Lots of speculation as of late surrounding the possibility of Nolan Patrick receiving a PTO contract with the Edmonton Oilers. This could be a steal of a contract and revitalize Patrick's career.

If Patrick were to impress with Edmonton, he could finally revitalize his once-promising career.
He is skilled enough to be able to play on the wing of a Connor McDavid and if he is healthy enough to do so, he could break out into a star coming off of a low-risk contract.
At 24, the odds of this happening continue to diminish but he could surprise everybody who has given up on him, including the Vegas Golden Knights and the Philadelphia Flyers.
