While Lavoie had struggled in his most recent NHL stint the move is shocking for one particular reason. With the Oilers announcing the injury to Dylan Holloway earlier this meant the team only had 12 healthy forwards with Lavoie.
Lavoie sent to Bakersfield. Interesting as Oilers only have 11 healthy forwards, assuming Brown is ready, with Holloway injured. Have to think another move is coming.
The Oilers now will likely make a corresponding move to either bring in a forward from outside the organization or call-up another player.
Lavoie will continue back in Bakersfield where he was producing well with 7 points in 5 games.
