Puljujarvi was picked 4th overall by the Edmonton Oilers in the 2016 draft ahead of players like Matthew Tkachuk, Clayton Keller, and Mikhail Sergachev. He was traded from the Oilers last season to Carolina in exchange for prospect Patrik Puistola.
He underwent double hip surgery over the offseason and is just now becoming healthy enough to return to NHL action.
