A report from Elliotte Friedman indicates that the Edmonton Oilers have placed NHL veteran Adam Erne on waivers.

Forward Adam Erne has been placed on waivers for the purpose of assignment.

Erne is in his first season with the Oilers and his 8th as an NHL player. In 6 games with Edmonton, he has not recorded a point. In his career, he has 89 points in 361 games.

If Erne survives waivers he will be sent to the AHL where he will continue his career and look to get back on track.
