This former Winnipeg Jets star has continued his struggles this season, which could see him be traded midway through the year.

Patrik Laine's Struggles This Season Could Land Him On The Trading Block

Patrik Laine, like the Columbus Blue Jackets in general, has struggled to start the year. Laine missed a few games due to injury, however, despite that, he has only recorded 3 points in 9 games played. His struggles landed him in the pressbox just a few days ago as a healthy scratch.





Laine's struggles, coupled with Columbus' terrible start, could land him on the trade block this season. The Blue Jackets have been a disaster since before the season even began, firing Mike Babcock before he got to coach a game, and now they sit at the bottom of the Metro division at 4-11-4.

Columbus Could Look to Move Laine To ReBuild For Future

If the struggles continue in Columbus, they may look to offload their assets in hopes of rebuilding for the future. Laine is in the beginning part of his 4-year contract with an $8.7 million AAV.



The Blue Jackets may wish to offload some of this in order to make some moves this offseason, and if Laine doesn't start to produce, a change of scenery might be needed.
