Valeri Nichushkin got caught up in some controversy that compromised his NHL career but a Russian media outlet seems to have the answers on his future.

Valeri Nichushkin fled North America in the middle of the first round of the playoffs which was quite strange.

A woman was found heavily intoxicated in Nichushkin's hotel room without a passport which was quite odd. After this incident, Nichushkin left for Russia where he currently is.

A Russian media outlet revealed Nichushkin's future recently:

" As [Sport-Express.ru] learned, forward Valeri Nichushkin will continue to play for Colorado in the next NHL season. This question has never been questioned within the club, despite the history that occurred during the playoffs."

This is huge news for the Avalanche because they can rely on him to return to the NHL next season. Nichushkin was a key member of the Av's top six scoring 47 points in 53 games. Along with his stout physical game, Nichushkin was missed by the Avalanche during the playoffs who were already handicapped without their captain Gabriel Landeskog.
