Ryan Miller is returning to the NHL and is coming with a former teammate.

Sharks Hire Miller

It was just announced that the San Jose Sharks have made some new big-time hires.

Insider Frank Seravalli went into the two most notable hires: Ryan Miller and Thomas Vanek.

Notable additions to #sjsharks staff today: Ryan Miller has been hired as goalie scout and goaltending development; Thomas Vanek has been hired as an amateur scout with Minnesota as his territory.

Both Miller and Vanek were teammates with #sjsharks GM Mike Grier in Buffalo.

Miller holds the record for the most wins by an American goaltender ever and has his number 30 retired by the Sabres.

Vanek also played a majority of his 1,029-game career with the Sabres registering multiple 40-goal seasons and captaining the Sabres.

They will now look to help their former teammate, Mike Grier, in identifying the next potential NHL stars and helping the Sharks during their rebuild.
