For the past few years, whenever you would see the Anaheim Ducks on a highlight, it was due to an incredible, breathtaking play by Trevor Zegras, but now, that may no longer be the case.
Over the past few weeks, the whispers of a Trevor Zegras departure from Anaheim have only grown louder, and now, one NHL Insider has revealed that there may be fire where there is smoke.
On the surface, it seems absolutely wild that a team on a rebuild like this would not consider keeping a player as talented and enjoyable to watch as Zegras, but as we've seen, this isn't a team prone to good decisions over the past few years.
While the NHL has got some incredible young talents like Jack Hughes and Connor Bedard along with some veterans like Auston Matthews and Connor McDavid, for young fans out there, perhaps no player is more exciting than the 23-year old Zegras.
This has been an ongoing situation for a number of weeks now, and these latest comments only add to the speculation, so unless an extension is reached soon, it appears the Ducks 2023-24 season is going to be surrounded with question marks until a move is made one way or another.
