Training camp is the perfect opportunity for the Oilers to experiment with their line combinations with little to no pressure as opposed to during the season. This offseason, the Oilers acquired Connor McDavid's former Erie Otters teammate Connor Brown, and it appears the two might be reunited.
The other experimental winger for the Oilers' first line is Evander Kane. Kane finished the year last year with 41 games played, with 16 goals and 12 assists. In a recent video, Kane and McDavid can be seen developing some great chemistry.
Being able to try out new players on McDavid's wing is important, as it gives the Oilers an opportunity to spread out their offensive production over multiple lines between McDavid and Leon Draisaitl.
