Consequences for four WJC scandal players just got much bigger than hockey

As you may already know, five hockey players, including four current NHLers, went to the London Police to face official charges related to the 2018 WJC Teamm Canada Junior scandal.

These include Flyers' Carter Hart, Flames' Dube and Devils' McLeod and Foote.

We'll need to wait a long time before knowing how this will end. The legal proceedings is expected to be lenghty and could result in major consequences for the players.

After this, the NHL will need to make decisions about the players.

A new report states that their NHL careers could be over for a simple reason.

New Development on the 2018 WJC Team Canada Players' Future in the NHL

According to Puck Empire, four out of the five players could be in danger of never going to the United States again. They could simply be refused at the U.S. border.

"This would mean that Carter Hart, Michael McLeod, Alex Formenton, and Dillon Dube, even if they were allowed to play in the NHL during this legal process, would be limited to just Canadian-based games.

Callan Foote, the fifth member, is a dual-citizen of Canada and the United States of America."

Even if the NHL let them come back in the league, limiting most of them to canadian games only would certainly discourage teams to give them contracts.
