The Coyotes ended their relationship with Alex Galchenyuk abruptly just two weeks after signing him to a contract.

Coyotes Set To Terminate Galchenyuk's Contract

The Arizona Coyotes have announced that they have placed Alex Galchenyuk on waivers with the purpose of terminating his contract.

The Arizona Coyotes have placed forward Alex Galchenyuk on unconditional waivers for purposes of terminating his contract. The Club will have no further comment at this time.

Insider David Pagnotta pointed out how the Coyotes only signed Galchenyuk to a contract on July 1st, 12 days ago.

This puts the former 3rd overall pick's NHL career in jeopardy. He has bounced around the NHL and has a total of 654 career games and 354 career points. He registered a career-high of 30 goals and 56 points with the Montreal Canadiens in 2015-16.

He spent a majority of last season in the AHL with the Colorado Eagles where he was a point per game player.

The NHLPA is reviewing this matter to ensure their was no foul play
