A rare event occurred at Capital One Arena on Sunday between the Ottawa Senators and the Washington Capitals. Sunlight managed to sneak in and cause some significant issues – indoors!

Ottawa Senators goalie Jonas Korpisalo found himself blindsided by the unexpected glare, and everyone was caught off guard, players and fans alike.
It's crazy to think that even in a controlled environment like an indoor arena, nature can still impede proceedings. With a solar eclipse scheduled for Monday afternoon, the hockey world got a sneak peek a day early.
Whether it's bad weather during outdoor games or sunlight sneaking indoors, teams must stay on their toes and roll with the punches. Adapting to the elements were indeed the visitors. Down 2–1, Ridley Greig tied things with 7 minutes left on a shot from the slot.
Then, in overtime, Jake Sanderson completed the Senators spoiler role with the game-winner.
The loss dropped Washington a point back of the Detroit Red Wings, who won 3-1 today over the Buffalo Sabres, for the second wild Card spot with five games left. They're also two points back of the New York Islanders for third in the Metropolitan Division and one back of the Philadelphia Flyers and Pittsburgh Penguins in what has become an intriguing Eastern Conference playoff race.
