One of the most reputable insiders in the NHL has indicated that his contract is all but on paper.

Seravalli Reports On Bouchard's Contract

Recently, Frank Seravalli went on Oilers Now and provided a massive update on Evan Bouchard's contract.
On Oilers Now, [Frank Seravalli] says there has been significant progress on an extension for Evan Bouchard.

He says it will be a bridge deal at less than $4M.

Calls it «substantially complete» but not formally finalized.

For a player of Bouchard's caliber who will certainly improve over the next couple of years, we could see the Oilers get away with having an 8 figure player on their roster for less than $4 million.
Bouchard has a strong 2022-23 with 40 points in 82 games but he broke out in the playoffs with 17 points in 12 games. This was 3rd on the Oilers only to McDavid(20) and Draisaitl(18).
