The Winnipeg Jets are looking to move Mark Schiefele and moving him to a team in need of a number-one center could net a massive haul.

The Bruins Need For A 1C

The past couple of months for the Boston Bruins have been rough. After finishing with the best regular season in NHL history, things have been all downhill since. It started with getting bounced in the first round. They also lost top free agents Tyler Bertuzzi and Dmitry Orlov to free agency.
Now, Patrice Bergeron has retired and David Krejci will likely follow suit. This means that Pavel Zacha will be their number one center and while Zacha is a talented player, he is not 1C material.
This need for a 1C and the Jets having one on the trade block could make the two teams the perfect trade partners.

To BOS:
Mark Scheifele

To WPG:
Brandon Carlo
Fabian Lysell
2026 2nd round pick

This blockbuster proposal would be beneficial to both sides. For the Bruins, they acquire their number one center in Scheifele.
Playing alongside top players like David Pastrnak and Brad Marchand could see Scheifele emerge with 100+ points. While he is not as defensively responsible as Patrice Bergeron, he is still serviceable on his own end but he makes his money in the other teams zone.
On the other side, the Jets get a massive return. To start, Brandon Carlo is a solid defenseman who fits well on any second pairing in the NHL. He shuts down other teams' top players and despite not too many points, he still provides a valuable game. He is also under a good contract for the next four seasons.
Fabian Lysell is also an intriguing player. Drafted in the 1st round of the 2021 draft, Lysell is a prospect with boatloads of upside. He has elite skating and passing yet he has failed to establish himself in the NHL. In his first AHL season, he scored 37 points in 54 games which is quite respectable but the Bruins may want more out of him.
On top of this, the Jets get a 2nd round pick which they can use on whoever they want.
While the Jets as losing their first line center, they would be getting some valuable assets for the future and ones that could help them to a championship in their next era.
