Writer Reveals That The Winnipeg Jets Are Screwing Up With Connor Hellebuyck

Connor Hellebuyck, along with the entire Winnipeg Jets team had a tremendous first half of the season, and with playoffs in sight, this could be a very dangerous team come the end of the regular season.

Should Connor Hellebuyck play less?

In 35 games this year, Hellebuyck has posted an impressive 2.20 GAA and a .920 save percentage, and has led the Jets to top spot in the Central Division, but there may be a problem.

According to Jets Nation, playing him so much is a mistake right now, given how healthy they will need him to be come playoff time, and have identified backup Laurent Brossoit as a player that needs more time in net.

A fantastic backup campaign thus far

While he has only played in 12 games, on paper Brossoit has been the better of the two goaltenders, posting a 2.07 GAA and a .926 save percentage, and that may come in limited gametime, but it's something the Jets need to keep an eye on.

Sure, Brossoit shouldn't be playing in the playoffs over Hellebuyck and we know that the star goaltender loves to play a lot, but if the Jets are indeed looking to go deep in their chase for a Stanley Cup, they need to give Hellebuyck more days off, and it's hard to argue with this statement.
