At 38 years old, Marc-Andre Fleury is quickly coming to the end of his storied NHL career. However, he may have some good years left.

Sitting in the number 2 spot with Minnesota, a potential trade could have Fleury return to his home to finish out his career.

Home Sweet Home

The Minnesota Wild are hungry for some more cap room after offseason deals which included the buyouts of Ryan Suter and Zach Parise. Fleury carries a decent chunk of change towards the cap, space which could be better allocated than for the number 2 goalie.

The mock trade would have Josh Anderson and goaltender Cayden Primeau sent to the Wild, in exchange for Fleury, a 2024 first-round pick, and Caeden Bankier.

MOCK TRADE

Minnesota Receives:
Josh Anderson
Cayden Primeau

Montréal Receives
Marc-André Fleury
2024 1st
Caeden Bankier

Win Win Trade

This trade has a good upside for both teams. The Wild would shed some cap space while getting a young goalie to develop, along with an established forward in Anderson. Montreal would get some important goalie depth.

Fleury would ultimately be the winner, getting to return to his hometown team to finish his career.
