The Nashville Predators suffered a huge injury to their defensive unit today.

Former Maple Leaf Out With Brutal Injury

Today it was announced that former top-five pick Luke Schenn will be out long-term with an injury.
Predators defenseman Luke Schenn will miss 4-6 weeks with a lower-body injury.

Schenn was injured in the season opener against the Tampa Bay Lightning. As of now the specific injury that Schenn suffered is not known.

Schenn Looking To Continue Successful Career

Luke Schenn came to Nashville hoping to continue his 16-year NHL career. He was of course drafted 5th overall by the Maple Leafs. After 4 years with the Maple Leafs, he headed to Philadelphia and played another 4 seasons. Since then he has bounced around to several other organizations including a return to the Maple Leafs last season.
Schenn should be able to return in November or December and try to help the Nashville Predators get back to the playoffs. If Nashville struggles he could be a valuable trade piece at the trade deadline.
