The Edmonton Oilers have made some great picks near the top of the draft lately, and while some panned out, Jesse Puljujarvi could just never get it going with the Oilers.

Jesse Puljujarvi makes his return to North America

After going back to Europe this past summer, the former No. 4 overall pick Jesse Puljujarvi is officially returning to North America, and he's found himself quite a nice new home.

According to a report, Puljujarvi is signing an AHL Professional tryout with the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins, with the goal of making it back to the NHL with the Pittsburgh Penguins.

A path back to the NHL opens up for the big forward

When asked about the situation, GM Kyle Dubas revealed that he will be getting into shape down there and will get some gameplay with the Penguins if that happens, and if all goes well, there's a chance he gets back to the NHL in Pittsburgh.

"It looks like in the coming days Jesse Puljujarvi will go to Wilkes-Barre if he gets through practice all right and begin his process down there of getting back into gameplay," Dubas said.

In 334 games at the NHL level, the 25-year old has tallied just 51 goals and 114 points, but never really found his groove in Edmonton, so if he can find a spot in the lineup alongside this veteran group in Pittsburgh, we may finally see his full potential unlocked.
