The Bruins have sailed past all expectations this season, coming out to an incredible 14-3-3 to start the year. This is especially impressive as they lost two of their best players this offseason in Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci. It appears that they have a real shot at making a push this year, but just need a little extra firepower to do so, filling the gap left by the two now-retired veterans.
The Oilers could be desperate enough to part ways with Nugent-Hopkins. He is no doubt skilled, with 18 points in 20 games this year and coming off a career-best 104-point season last year. However, the Oilers are in desperate need of a defenseman or a goaltender.
The Bruins could leverage their top-tier goaltenders Linus Ullmark and Jeremy Swayman to try and get something done for Nugent-Hopkins. He would instantly push the Bruins lineup to the next level, making them a true contending team.
