The Edmonton Oilers made some solid moves this summer, and perhaps the most overlooked move in the NHL was when they added Connor Brown to join Connor McDavid on their first line.

Injured Reserve

After playing in just four games a season ago, Brown, the veteran of 448 games in the NHL is officially being taken off the Injured Reserve, with a clean bill of health ahead of the 2023-24 season.

This is great news for the Oilers, who will look to have Brown and Evander Kane pair Connor McDavid on the first line this year as they look to finally take the next step in their Stanley Cup chase.

An injured riddled veteran

Unfortunately for the Oilers, Brown hasn't played more than 75 games a season since 2018-19, but if he's fully healthy, his career could be ignited alongside the incredible talent in Edmonton.

When healthy, Brown can be a major difference maker, as he has a solid 90 goals and 216 points in his 448 career games, and after seeing the production of Ryan Nugent-Hopkins a season ago, the Oilers will be looking to replicate that again this season.
