Ekholm was a big piece of Edmonton's success down the stretch he provided stability and leadership to a shaky defensive unit. He also was able to provide some offense with 14 points in 21 games.
Now he will be out for the start of training camp and potentially deal with lingering effects. Hopefully, for the Oilers, his injury does not affect the great things he does on the ice for too long.
