It has just been reported that Chris Simon, a former hockey player with a career spanning from 1993 to 2008 in the NHL, has died at the age of 52.

Former Stanley Cup Champion Chris Simon Dies at 52

Puck Empire shared the following statement on Instagram:
"I regret to inform you that NHL alumnus Chris Simon has passed away at the age of 52.

Simon played 782 games in the NHL from 1993-2008 with Quebec, Colorado, Washington, Chicago, New York (R), New York (I), Calgary, and Minnesota, registering 144 goals and 305 points in that span.

He was a one-time Stanley Cup Champion (1996)."
