The Vancouver Canucks are arguably the best and deepest team in the NHL right now, and according to a recent report, they may be about to get much, much better.
According to Insider Rick Dhaliwal, the Canucks are poking around with the idea of landing Phil Kessel, who has continued to express his desire to continue his career in the NHL.
While he was a healthy scratch for much of the playoffs, Kessel appeared in all 82 games for the Vegas Golden Knights a season ago, with 14 goals and 32 points showing that he can still get it done at a high level.
With potential wing spots available in the bottom six, this would be a fantastic, low-risk move for the Canucks, and would further reinforce that this year is Stanley Cup or bust in Vancouver.
