Elias Pettersson, the Canucks biggest star will become a restricted free agent next summer, and without much top tier talent around him, it makes sense for Vancouver to want him locked up long-term.
Discussions regarding an extension have reportedly not gone too far, as Pettersson wants to see what this team can do around him, and now, it appears his biggest desire in Vancouver has been revealed.
This comes as no surprise, as every hockey player coming to the NHL should have one big goal in mind, and after a career year of 102 points a season ago, if Vancouver can't provide him a chance at the playoffs, it makes sense for him if he wants to explore other opportunities.
