Since he made his NHL debut with the Edmonton Oilers, Ethan Bear has established himself as a dependable NHL defenseman. Now, as he returns from a significant shoulder surgery, Bear is seeking another NHL contract for the upcoming season.
At just 26 years old, Bear has played 251 games in his NHL career, tallying 63 points while earning recognition as a fan favourite. According to Chris Johnston, the Canucks, Leafs, Devils, and Penguins have expressed interest in signing him.
Originally drafted by the Oilers in the fifth round of the 2015 draft, Bear, spent three seasons in Edmonton before being traded to the Carolina Hurricanes in exchange for Warren Foegele.
Later, Bear found himself traded once again, this time to the Canucks, where he played part of a season before suffering the significant injury.
The Oilers and their defensive struggles could benefit from Bear's addition, but with all the interest he's getting around the NHL, it won't be easy to get him.
