Logan O'Connor is a key part of the Colorado Avalanche lineup, and after season ending surgery in March, he's preparing for a big time return.

Despite entering last season as a Stanley Cup contender, the Colorado Avalanche fell in the second round of the playoffs, another disappointment after their Cup win two years ago. This off-season however, it appears they're getting healthy, with Gabriel Landeskog nearing a return, and now, Logan O'Connor, who is reportedly set to return to action in the pre-season.
Last year, O'Connor's season was ended early in March when he underwent season ending hip surgery, with videos emerging of him in recent months of his return to the ice.
Now, all reports have revealed that he will be back on the ice early this season, with projections even predicting that he will take the ice during the pre-season, a major boost to an Avalanche squad that lacked major production down the lineup late in the season.
"We want to get him back on the ice, it's been a while. We want him to get some games, but just getting out in practice for a guy like Logan it's going to help him in working all these 5-on-5 drills that we're doing. It should get us up to speed quickly."

In 57 games a year ago, O'Connor was on pace for career highs across the board, with a career high 13 goals and 25 points putting him one short of his career high, and with him projected to slot in alongside Ross Colton on the third line, optimism is high. It's unclear when the 28-year old will get back to being 100% healthy, but he will be available for the season opener, and that's a big boost for an Avalanche team that once again have incredibly lofty goals in 2024/25.
