In breaking news, the Arizona Coyotes have taken the next step towards building their next arena after years of trying to get something done, helping secure their fate of staying in Arizona.

Arizona Coyotes Finalizing Land Purchase For New Arena

According to NHL Insider Darren Dreger, the Arizona Coyotes have taken the next steps to finalize the purchase of some land in Phoenix, in hopes of building their new arena there.

Not sure commissioner Bettman or the Arizona Coyotes will expand on this today. As mentioned last night on @TSNHockey, the Coyotes are finalizing the purchase of a piece of land in Phoenix for an arena build. They're hoping to announce project plans next month.

The decision to buy hints at the NHL's support of keeping the Coyotes in Arizona, among rumours and speculation that the Coyotes could be relocated to a different City looking to bring in an NHL team.

The Coyotes will submit their building plans in the new year, to which they will have to go through the building and planning process that they were turned down at last time.

Hopefully, for Coyotes fans, things go smoother this time, and they can move out of Arizona State University's hockey rink for good.
