Rick Bowness Provides A Promising Update On Nikolaj Ehlers

Jets head coach Rick Bowness has provided a major update on Nikolaj Ehlers and when he expects him to return.

Nikolaj Ehlers has been struggling with an injury lately but there is hope that he returns to the Jets before the season begins.

Today, head coach Rick Bowness commented on his status and whether or not he will be playing in the preseason.

«Nik's skating today. Wednesday he'll skate with the big groups. We were hoping to have him in these games. Obviously, that's not going to happen. We'll have to give him a couple of days to get his legs back underneath him.»

This is quite encouraging because even though Ehlers will not be playing, he will still likely be playing early into the season.

He has struggled with injuries over the past few years having not played in a full 82-game season since 2017-18. He is productive offensively though posting 38 points in 45 games last season and if he is able to put in a full year with the Jets, he could help them make the playoffs.
