Of the players sent to the American League, Brad Lambert is the most notable, having been drafted 30th overall in the 2022 draft. Many believed he would be drafted much higher than that as well.
Forwards Jeff Malott and Dominic Toninato both have some NHL experience, but both are more or less career AHLers at this point. Defenseman Ashton Sautner also got a cup of coffee in the show once upon a time with the Vancouver Canucks, but he is also an AHLer at this point. As such, these players do not figure to be part of the plan going forward in Winnipeg.
Lambert, on the other hand, remains one of the Jets' top prospects, coming off a season in which he came to North America, putting up 38 points in 26 games with the Seattle Thunderbirds of the WHL. In the playoffs, he popped off for 26 points in 17 games. He could be an option as a mid-season call-up this year if the Jets sustain injuries in their top six.
