Brad Marchand Hints at Possible Return of Patrice Bergeron in Shocking Statement

Patrice Bergeron announced his retirement after last season, and many expected the Bruins to be significantly worse this season. However, that hasn't been the case at all, as the Bruins sit atop the Atlantic division standings. They are making a serious case as frontrunner for a potential Cup run this year, and just need to add small pieces to their roster in the coming months to ensure that post-season push.

In a shocking statement made by Brad Marchand, he would like one of those additions to be Patrice Bergeron.

Whatever Marchand is referring to as coming up, we aren't entirely sure. However, it was noted in the interview that Marchand and Bergeron still talk almost every day.

The odds of a Bergeron return are obviously extremely low. After 19 seasons, Bergeron has said publically that he does believe he made the right call, even if he does miss the game occasionally.

However, it's got to be a little enticing to see his former team have success this season again, and in a position to make a push for the Stanley Cup. The Bruins would likely love to have him back as well, as he retired at the top of his game. In his final season in the NHL, he scored 27 goals and 31 assists, no small feat for the 19th campaign of his career.

While this is a long shot, it will be fun to keep an eye on, and will definitely give Bruins' fans something to dream about.
