A 16-year veteran goalie has announced his retirement from the NHL.

Schneider Calls It a Career

The once great Vancouver goalie has decided to retire today after 410 games in the NHL.

Schneider played for the Canucks, Devils and Islanders, putting up a career average of 0.918 save percentage and a 2.43 goals against average.

When Schneider was asked about his retirement Schneider said this:

"I'm at peace with it" Schneider said "I'll miss my teammate and the intensity of playing, but it's the right time for me"

Schneider ranks second all time in games played, saves and shutouts in the Devils organization. Doing all of that in just seven seasons.
